Follow the Dutch national team

The Dutch team have also qualified for the tournament this year and for those who want to chase Ronald Koeman's men, the schedule is of interest. On it are three host cities: Hamburg, Leipzig, and Berlin. Three cities which you can easily combine with your rental car:

  • Pick up the car in Hamburg after the first match.
  • Drive to Leipzig to watch Netherlands - France.
  • After the match, drive towards Berlin for the match against Austria.
  • Enjoy a few days in Germany's capital.
  • Return your rental car in Berlin, without any drop-off fees.

Another option is to rent your car in Amsterdam or Eindhoven and drive to Germany. Please note that you have to return the car in the Netherlands, you cannot return it in Germany.

Road trip Ruhr Area

With four host cities located just an hour apart, it is perfect to combine Cologne, Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, and Düsseldorf in a road trip through the Ruhr area. These cities all have three or four group stage matches, allowing you to drive a nice route. Our experts came up with two routes for you to choose from:

Option 1:

  • Start on June 20th in Gelsenkirchen with Spain against Italy.
  • On the 22nd of June in Dortmund, Turkey plays against Portugal.
  • Stay on the Spanish tour with on June 24th in Düsseldorf with Spain against Albania.
  • End the week in Cologne with England against Slovenia on the 25th of June.

Option 2:

  • On the 15th of June, Hungary and Switzerland play each other in Cologne.
  • A day later, the Serbia v England match is scheduled in Gelsenkirchen.
  • On June 17th Belgium plays against Slovakia in Düsseldorf.
  • Finish the road trip with Turkey against Portugal in Dortmund on June 22nd.

You can pick up your rental car in a host city of your choice and return it free of charge in the city where your trip ends. This makes a road trip through Germany for the European Championships much easier to arrange.

Explore southern Germany

The south of Germany also has a number of host cities. You can start your trip from one of our rental locations in either Munich or Stuttgart. Both cities have three group stage matches, giving you more than enough choice to visit matches. From Stuttgart, it is 2.5 hours to Frankfurt, another playing city. This is where Germany, England and Belgium, among others, play a group match.

Due to its location, you could also combine visiting the matches in Germany with a trip to the Alps in Austria. This combines the cities in Germany with nature in Austria, an excellent combination. However, remember that you can't drop the car off in Austria or Switzerland, so make sure you return the car in Germany.
